  1. 1.) This unit was very interesting. Some were about how women were treated back then. How it wasn't fair for them to be staying at home and not being able to do anything amusing. Then there was the time when females stood up for what they believe in; then came progression of women's rights. There was also another topic about the great depression. It was when people were having a difficult time and couldn't do anything about it. For example, unemployed men were either arrested or forced to go to work camps. They didn't have a say to those.
    2.) Nothing, I guess?
3.) Learning about Feminism, showing clips, giving us examples, etc.
    4.) The paper works.
    5.) It's going pretty well.
6.) Got to pick groups and what to do in our project.
7.) I don't mind doing the individual work sheets but I honestly don't like doing it.
8.) Nothing I know right now... I guess?

  2. 1)The great depression was an awesome topic because ever since i watched the movie"Cinderella man" I was always curious about what the depression was and what caused it. The process and spending money for no reason could lead to bankrupsy and drama through out your country.
    2)Nope, I'm pretty much covered
3)I really liked this unit. I like the part when we were divided into groups of boys and girls, and than we talked about what our perspectives with our opposite sexes were.
4)When we had to look for info and write the answers down on the question sheets.
    5)Very organized and a smart idea. :)
6)Picking our own groups and having a reasonable due date.
7)More group assignments than individual assignments, and try to keep a closer eye on those who are off task (ex cell phone)
8)More fill in the blank notes and more videos.

  3. 1.) What I learned in this unit was how Canada treated the aboriginals in the past. I found it interesting to learn how Canada once was in the past. What I like about this unit was learning about how the aboriginals fought for the freedom of self government.

2.) What I liked about this unit was how we watched videos that gave us a better understanding.

3.) What I didn’t like about this unit was how it was a bit confusing and hard to really understand.

4.) I felt that the course assessment was fair and reasonable to achieve.

5.) What I liked about the project was how we had the choice of creating the type of assignment we wanted to hand in and there wasn’t a set expectation like an essay or poster.

6.) What I would change would be the project would be to give an example for each of the topics so we know if were going on the right track.

7.) We can improve the class by having more visual explanations other that just notes.

  4. 1-I really liked this unit because we were talking about the women`s rights because they had no jobs, because the womens were not too good to do the work of a man.
    2-Nothing.
3-I really liked this unit because it was easy to understand.
    4-Paper works.
    5-Very organized.
6-I learned more about Canada in the WWI.
    7-Nothing is going well.
    8-More movies and blank notes.

  5. I like this unit because I learnt about the Depression. I never knew about the Depression.
I found it interesting on how people got by and how long it lasted. It was interesting how the world got out of the Depression.

  6. 1) This unit we learned about the Great Depression and how it affected Canada. We looked at the causes of the depression and compared it to todays recession. We also studied feminism during the 1920's.
    2) Nothing!
    3) I found the Great Depression very interesting because I can relate to the recession today.
    4) How there's like 100 vocab to study & also know the reason behind it =(
    5) Pretty good, I like our notes better than before. I think we should go over the vocab together as a class because sometimes it's hard to understand all of them.
    6) I actually learned A LOT from this project because I had to search information from the internet & thats where I learned information about the Great Depression.
    7) I think it's unfair how people can just hand in there projects/assignments late & still get a good mark. Like .. people who had less time to work on something actually handed it ON TIME. I think we should hve a strict due date so it's fair.
    8) More notes. & At the beginning of each class I think we should review what we learned the day before.

  7. 1) I learned about the womans rights and how it was for them back then. Also about canada and the aboriginals and how there life was and how they got treated.
    2) I dont have any questions, you've explained everything really well.
    3) I liked how we looked at pictures and videos to give us a better understanding.
    4) I didnt like the individual work
    5) The course assesment is fine and reasonable.
    6) What i liked about the project was that we had the choice of how we wanted to do it and it wouldnt effect our mark on how it looked.
    7) I would rather have an expalnation beside each topic. Other then that it was fine.
    8) We can improve the class by doing more activites and less notes.

  8. 1.) I learned all about the time of the depression. I heard of the depression before, but now I know what exactly happened.

    2.) No other questions.

3.)I liked learning about the rights of women. It was great to know that women were granted rights to be recognized as "persons" under the state of the law during this time. I liked having individual work, since it helps me remember the course work easier.

    4.) Can't think of anything.

    5.) Organization is improving =D

6.) I liked having a choice on how to present our learning.

7.) It was a little bit difficult to go through with our project as we learned about our unit. As we worked on our project, we learned new topics the next day and had to modify our project to incorporate the change.

8.) I know we are on a time limit, but it seems as though we fly through each topic. It would be nice to review each new topic, and make sure we fully grasp it before we move onto a new topic

  9. 1.) I really enjoyed learning about feminism. It has really given me a different perspective on this and ever since i learned that topic i have been keeping an eye out to see if i can recognize this in public

    2.) None whatsoever

3.) I really enjoyed getting questions along with other papers that had info on it and then we had to look for the answers

    4.) Writing notes!

    5.) Very well organized

6.) Picking from different topics and having to choose our own groups

    7.) Having more group assignments

8.) Nothing at the moment :)

  10. (1) by studying this unit learn how women successfully fought for their rights. i also know the responsed of the workers for their works to the government during the 20s and 30s. it's really a worthy unit for me to study i think.
    (2) nothing i don't know.
    (3) it's an awesome unit because we learn a lot of different people struggling for their rights. the details we learned are persuasive. i love it.
    (4) nothing i don't like.
    (5) it's fair for me. if we can check our marks everytime we need, it may be better i think.
    (6) it's good because we can do the project we like in the way we want.
    (7) obviously i will do the project all in my own words next time!
    (8) temporarily i have no idea..

  12. I really enjoyed this unit because I have never studied this topic before in school. I learned a lot about life in Canada and not just North America. I found the great depression really interesting and I also learned a lot about how the government is handling our current recession. I didn't like how broad the assignment was. I found it difficult to know exactly what you wanted but now I know. I did like how we got to choose the topic though. Maybe if we get to do this type of assignment again I would be more successful at it.

  16. I Find this unit interesting because I didn't know about the Depression. I thought it was only Europe and Canada was not in a depression. I learnt how it started and how we got out of it. Canada was in a hole. Spending money helps Depression decrease and helps with the world ecomonic.
    I have no questions.
It helps you learn about about Depression and knowledge in the past so we don't make the same mistakes.
I liked everything in this unit.
I would like to do my homework. It would be helpful if you gave more ideas and suggestions on how to do the activities.

  17. I enjoyed unit 2. What I learned about the great depression, it made me think back to English 11 when we read "Mice of Men" by John Steinbeck, in the great depression they had no money the atmosphere was sad and depressing.
Will we have another depression after our resesion?
