  1. 1.) What I learned during this unit is how WWI had started and ended. I also learned the meanings of Imperialism, and Nationalism and how they contributed to the beginning of the war.

2.) Some questions I still have are over how many years did it take for the Triple Entente and the Triple Alliance to form?

3.) The aspects of the course that I enjoyed were the activity parts because it helped give a better understanding of the course overall. Also the assignments because they didn’t involve too much work but helped with the explanation of the unit.

4.) Some aspects of the course that I would change would be to add more visual stuff so we can actually watch things that happened during the war instead of just taking notes.

5.) I feel that I have learned a lot in this unit and have a better understanding of WWI. The assessment of my learning was good because the final essay really showed how much I had learned in the overall unit.

6.) We can improve the course by adding more visual learning styles than just notes. Also to give us vocabulary quizzes so it will actually get us to study them and easy marks.

during this unit i learned the canadains suported the english by sendind canadains solders to germany and sending food for the solders.
the best thing i enjoyed about this course is the movie on WWI.i enjoy having the blog then have a text book.i like filling the blanks then having to write everything.
the only thing i would change about your class is to have more pictures in the notes and to watch more movies.
we can improve the course by using the computer lab once a week.

  3. During this unit I learnt, how Canada was involved in wwI. I learnt how WWI started and ended and what countries fought. I have a better understanding of WWI, alliances, balance of power.
The only question I have is will war ever end?
I would like to focus more on vocabulary, so it will help me on the final exam.
I like the group project. It helps me learn more about the topic.
I don't like taking notes, so I like the fill in the blanks. I don't like reading the blog on my own. I wish I could look at the blog in class.

  4. 1) In this unit I learned about WW1; how it began and all the wars that were involved in it. I also learned how to make connections whenever we were asked to do a response for a particular assignment.
2)Why did the British have all the control over several countries, and not the others?
3)I really liked the discussions we had in class, because I've learned a lot more than just reading the notes.
    4) Honestly, I think we should take detailed notes on paper .. because I think the notes we have right now on WW1 aren't detailed enough. It feels as if we need to know a lot more than what we have right now. Like if I were to look at back at our notes I would rather have something that I can study directly off of instead of looking through the internet.

    5) Overall, it is pretty good. The essay really helped me learn more about WW1 because I was able to search for more information online.

    6) I think this class is bit too "free." Like we have a lot of spare time to just chill which I don't really like. My other friends told me that their teacher mentioned that there's A LOT of stuff to learn in Socials11 so they need ALL the time there is to learn everything. I also feel like I have to look through the internet myself for everything that happened in WW1 and also all the vocabs in detail so that I am prepared for the exam. Don't take this personally Mr Miller! You're a great teacher I just think that I could be learning a lot more.

  5. 1) In this unit i learned about ww1 and about the effects it had on Canada, and why we were involed and how it all happend.
    2) I don't really have any questions about it, you coverd all of it pretty well.
    3) I enjoyed the group work and I like the note taking. And how you taught in different ways each class.
4)I would not changed it, I enjoyed learning about ww1 and, I like how there wasnet tons of home work. It was good
    5) I wish that there was never war in the first place, but I really enjoyed learning about it an it was very intresting to know about.
    6) I Would like it it there were more group projects. I would like it if I was more reminded about the blog.

  6. During this unit, I learnt how world war one started and the countries that were involved. I learned Natoinism is about supporting your country. I learned that imperialism is imposing polictials and militaries over countries to make money and to gain power. the Balance of power is making sure that it will an equal war.
    I have no questions.
I don't like fill in the blanks, I'd rather take normal notes. I like indepenant work. I like using the blog, because it's faster and easier.
I would change that we would sit in front of computers in class, instead of in desks.
I feel weird coming back into your class after being kicked out of it last year.
You can improve the class by more discussions.

  7. 1) During this unit I learnt about the causes of WW1 and all the 'mini' battles going on within it. I also learned how to make connections to stuff that I actually understand and will remember to what we learnt.

    2) Why is WW1 so confusing? Haha.

    3) I liked at the beginning of the class when we talked about current events and stuff, maybe we could relate them to stuff that we are actually learning?

    4) I NEVER WANT TO WRITE AN ESSAY AGAIN!

    5) I don't really think I learnt as much as I personally could have about WW1 but I'm reminding myself now with the other units to review everything and actually grasp what is going on!

    6) Did I mention essays totally suck? Maybe if we never wrote one of those again it would be really awesome :) Also if you like call out on people to say the answers so a few people don't run the whole class. If the notes could be like we talked about in class, without the box around them I think that would help too. Other than that I really like the way you're teaching :) Good job.
